AdMonsters and Vio Launch Online Creative Portal to Speed Internet Ad Operations
AdMonsters and Vio Worldwide Limited today announced the Online Creative Portal (OCP), a service for digital agencies and online publishers. OCP will allow publishers to post their advertising specifications in a global database so that ad agencies can perform real time creative planning, testing, and submission. This service aims to reduce the cost of planning and delivering Internet advertising campaigns.

ocp screengrabAdMonsters and Vio Worldwide Limited today announced the Online Creative Portal (OCP), a service for digital agencies and online publishers. OCP will allow publishers to post their advertising specifications in a global database so that ad agencies can perform real time creative planning, testing, and submission. This service aims to reduce the cost of planning and delivering Internet advertising campaigns.

According to AdMonsters Chairman, Bowen Dwelle, "The Online Creative Portal will allow online publishers and agencies to work together much more efficiently." Dwelle adds, "As the growth of online advertising continues to accelerate and online becomes a major component of large-scale advertising budgets, we must address the issue of excessive operational costs caused by manual processes and inefficient communication. The Online Creative Portal allows publishers and agencies to collaborate directly on the handling of online creative, and to automate key steps in the process of getting new creative up and running. OCP will reduce costs and lead time for online campaigns dramatically and make online advertising more profitable for everyone."

Yahoo is among the leading publishers who have been testing the new service. David Burrows, Head of Ad Technology at Yahoo Europe, states, "The industry has been crying out for a system to help bridge the gap between publishers’ need for compliance with standards and advertisers’ desire for creativity and speed. Vio and AdMonsters have listened carefully to the requirements of all parties and have come up with an elegant system to help the online advertising business continue growing in a profitable way."

The Global Specification Database is a core component of OCP where publishers post their advertising requirements, such as submission deadlines, minimum file size, maximum ad expansion, or number of graphic rotations to the online database. Agencies and advertisers are then able to access the data for media planning purposes to help compare varying publisher requirements and select the most appropriate sites for their campaigns. Additional tools are available to manage the campaign and preflight the creative content to ensure that it displays accurately on the target website. Collaboration tools within OCP allow agencies to communicate with publishers to let them know when a campaign is ready to run.

As the popularity of Internet advertising has increased, digital agencies have been under pressure to deliver an increasing volume of campaigns to online publishers under ever tighter deadlines and quality requirements. According to Garry Dalzell, creative services director at the top UK digital agency Glue London, "Agencies are really challenged to meet campaign submission deadlines while complying with the diversity of publisher technical requirements. The Online Creative Portal has the potential to make our jobs much easier by helping us find and compare publishers’ specs and then letting us test our creative files for compliance before submission."

Chris Friend, Vio’s European Managing Director, states, "We commend AdMonsters and their member companies for taking the lead in tackling the complex challenge of improving communication and commercial transactions between online publishers and advertisers. This is an exciting time to be involved in the Internet advertising business and Vio is pleased to have been chosen to provide the critica lnfrastructure and services for this groundbreaking new service. We expect both publishers and advertisers will reap the benefits."

A number of leading online publishers and digital agencies in the UK have begun testing the Online Creative Portal as part of a limited roll-out. The service is expected to be commercially available in late 2007.

AdMonsters is holding two events on October 23, 2007; an Ad Ops training class and a Members Dinner

Ad Ops 203: Video Processing & Trafficking
Video knowledge and systems stretch between many groups and interrelated processes. These include technology development, content management, ad traffickers, inventory management and even finance in order to have a scalable product. Conversely, there are few individuals who understand the entire work flow involved in online video, and even fewer companies who monetize it efficiently This course will furnish attendees with a fuller knowledge of the end to end processes in advertising operations for Video advertising products.

This course is designed for both ad operations managers and other personnel in related Internet divisions, who want to acquire a knowledge of “best practices” in video advertising products and work flows.
